President Trump recently nominated Amy Coney Barrett to fill the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s seat on the US Supreme Court. We must not let this happen.
Barrett has a conservative voting record and has openly criticized the Affordable Care Act and Roe v. Wade. If appointed, she poses a serious threat to the healthcare and reproductive rights that Justice Ginsburg did so much to advance, and that generations of organizers and activists have fought so hard for.
A lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court is decided by a simple majority vote in the Senate. With weeks left until election day, Trump, Mitch McConnell, and Republican Senators are working to push through Barrett’s appointment while the administration still holds a majority. This administration has shown a disregard for the health and human rights of our communities in New Hampshire and beyond, as we continue to suffer from the effects of COVID-19. We must not allow a Republican-led Senate to take a vote with such major repercussions before the American people have a chance to vote for a different future.
For the sake of our collective healthcare future, and in honor of Justice Ginsburg’s legacy, we must act now to stop Barrett’s confirmation.
Join us in urging Governor Sununu to speak out for the health and reproductive rights of Granite State residents. We need Sununu to tell Trump and Senate Republicans: NO NEW SCOTUS appointment until after the 2021 inauguration.
